“We know the energy we put into it today will still be paying off dividends for our customers 10 years from now. When you have something that you know is true, even over the long term, you can afford to put a lot of energy into it.” – Jeff Bezos
Amazon is known for having started out with using doors as desks – the company was and remains frugal because Bezos wasn’t interested in being flashy, he was thinking long term. Even though Amazon is a public company, they are known for investing in the future and looking at a return on investment in terms of years, not weeks or months. Your ecommerce business is not an overnight get-rich-quick scheme, but an investment that takes time to nourish and grow. It will require experimentation along the way. You will have to change and evolve, implementing new strategies as you go. Be prepared to work your ecommerce business for an extended period of time before you see results.
“If you think about the long term then you can really make good life decisions that you won’t regret later.”
