This past Saturday, I was skiing in the Blue Sky Basin on the backside of Vail. It was a beautiful clear day, and I noticed for the first time, that you can actually see Steamboat from there! I’ve skied Vail lots of time, but never noticed this before. Of course, Steamboat has always been there, it’s about 2 hours to the northwest. But due to clouds, distance, or perhaps just not looking, I couldn’t see it until someone pointed it out to me.
