Live video is altering the way brands communicate with their customers. Live streaming is no longer a novelty for marketers. A live video strategy attracts viewers in a way that other social media forms cannot: it is immediate and authentic. And marketers are taking notice, with 28% planning to increase their live streaming spending.
Research indicates that 80% of audiences would rather watch live video from a brand than read a blog. But in order to reach your audience are you going to live stream using Zoom, or use a social media channel like Facebook Live or LinkedIn Live. If your business is anything like mine, you probably have multiple social media accounts. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to stream a live video to all of your accounts at the same time?
Now you can, and it’s actually pretty simple to do so. Head over to ReStream.io and create a free account. ReStream.io lets you broadcast from the built-in ReStream “Studio” to over 30 different channels, although Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn are likely to be the most common.
And while you can just use the Studio for your broadcasts, ReStream also has a way of using your Zoom account as the primary source instead of the studio, and then stream to all of the ReStream channels from your Zoom account. To do this, you will need a paid Zoom account. Select “Settings” from the left menu, then choose “InMeeting (advanced)” Slide down until you see “Allow livestreaming of meetings” and toggle this on. Be sure to check the box that says “Custom Live Streaming Service.”
The first time you livestream from Zoom you will need to paste in some information from ReStream to establish the connection. This can be found on your ReStream dashboard under RTMP Settings.
Hop back over to Zoom and start a meeting. AT the bottom right of the screen there will be a 3-dot ellipses. Click on that then select “Live on Custom Live Streaming Service.”
The first time you use this feature, Zoom will ask you for the RTMP Settings from above. Enter them, and the streaming link to any one of your channels.
That’s it! You are now streaming live on Zoom, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn all at the same time!
Here’s the video instructions:
If you are not yet taking advantage of live streaming for your online business, now is the time to start.
- It is estimated that 91 million subscribers will utilize live streaming by 2024.
- Video on a landing page can increase conversion by 80% or more.
- After watching a video, 64% of users are more likely to buy a product online.
Don’t get left behind.
